Why do we charge a fee to upgrade shipping to Freight?

This item does not either fit the UPS (or FedEx) Ground shipping guidelines due to its dimensional weight, or has an abnormally high damage ratio. The damage ratio on this class of merchandise is significantly beyond 10%. Worse yet, UPS/FedEx will most likely decline a shipping claim because of the violation of its guidelines. Many low-ball sellers use this cheap shipping method fully knowing its consequence. We believe the sensible way is to ship it freight, although it is more costly. We charge both shipping cost and freight surcharge (Some 3rd party web sites may not contain both or either of the aforementioned) Our mantra is still the same: save money on the merchandise, not on the shipping. Otherwise, you will be sorry.
